Remodeling

This had an interesting location for an addition to the master bathroom. KJM built out more than 400 sq. ft. of bathroom, having a large curbless walk-in shower, a round spa tub, 2 large deluxe sky lights operable from a remote, and a large walkout covered porch that views a creek.

The pictures below are of a detached garage in the cinco ranch development in the west houston/katy area. The customer bought the house because of the enlarged garage. They wanted an area for their hobbies. It is approximately 200 sq feet more than a standard garage.

KJM Construction strengthened the structural end and then added the essentials like electricity, air conditioning, insulation, sheetrock, etc.

We finished it out with shelving around the perimeter and a sound system. The customers now had a great get away.

This customer had two rooms and wanted one large one. The original rooms were very narrow but long. KJM suggested two different ways to do the expansion. The first is to leave a column in the middle of the room. The second is to install a high tech laminated beam that can withstand a span of 28 feet. The customer went with the second option.

The customer wanted to put in a gift store. The lease space had potential with 5000 square feet. Since it was a gift shop, the shop owner wanted KJM to do all of the display build outs and to finish the space out. If you would like to see more photos of the cabinets we did for this job - see the cabinets section.

Remodeling an old den. The customer wanted to update their old dem. They had the 30 year old V-groove paneling that was painted as well. They wanted a more open look. We suggested that they remove all rafter beams and wall paneling. We replaced it with sheet rock throughout and with light texture. The bar area was removed, the shelves were removed, and a cabinet with glass doors was built. The ceiling was also done with new recessed cans and a stained hardwood magnolia beam. Pictures of the project are shown below:

This is an older home that was owned by a will know person from Houston. The family room had no windows, only a patio door facing a porch. There was no view to see the swimming pool. KJM suggested a double insulated slider with a double "e" window. The window was going to face the west, so it was necessary to install a tinted double "e" because of the afternoon sun.

Opening up interior walls doubled the area of the room. The formal living room and the den were combined into one room - the Great Room. Removing dark beams from the ceiling made the room look much higher. View the before pictures on the left and the after pictures on the right.

This customer wanted a full view of their front yard. Before it was a brick wall with a small window. We opened it up completely on a radius. All the glass is 3/8" tempered and tinted.
